Celebrating Archer: Third Season

With comments from New York Daily News like:
“Creator Adam Reed showers us with a cascade of twisted comedy that invites everyone to come in and gasp”
and the Boston Herald :
“This spy spoof hits a bull’s-eye with risqué snark and one of the best vocal casts assembled for any animated series"
is there any reason not to love Archer?

As a man, Archer is a stunning specimen of manhood. Steely blue eyes, thick head of dark hair, a body that women (and men) would love to have in and out of bed - he is a walking sex appeal. According to him, he is the greatest spy alive, and a few of his enemies seem to think so. How else would you classify a man who can kill a room full of insurgents in a deadly Russian Roulette, then almost immediately afterward, somehow impregnated an escort (who later was revealed as not what she seemed)?

I have come to adore - and crave - the series when I once stumbled upon it in my local cable. Thinking it as some lame cartoon to fill the space between seasons, I kept on watching, only to find myself gasping aloud at the political incorrectness, simultaneously horrified and amused at the situations he somehow always ends up. The man behind Sterling Archer is H. Jon Benjamin, who embodies the allure, the ignorant and the intelligence (or sometimes lack of; come on, who in the world doesn't know helium is not flammable?!) of the spy. I don't think there is anyone else who could do this character justice more than him.

Now that the Third Season is already rolling, through the grapevine the news looks good. Fox already ordered additional episodes, and the reviews, both professional and avid fans alike, are very favourable. I hope it stays that way while I long across the ocean for the arrival of more Archer (no doubt will suffer the local sensitivities' sharp scissors).

Madness

... is usually described as the absence of reason. If seen from one point of view, that is correct. A sane person won't just sit and crap anywhere. However take this pill instead: madness is a condition where the mind is flooded, inundated by reason to the point of bursting that it finally is unhinged. And that person who craps anywhere might not be so mad after all.
